They were revered by each tribe as protectors, and were immortalized by their tribal totems. Some naguals could appear before an enemy with weapon in hand and strike, then disappear before their rival hit the ground.

On Dec. 21, 2012, at For 5 millennia, Native Americans relied on tribal guardians called Naguals; humans who transformed into stealthy and powerful animals. They were revered by each tribe as protectors, and were immortalized by their tribal totems.

Some naguals could appear before an enemy with weapon in hand and strike, then disappear before their rival hit the ground. On Dec. 21, 2012, at 11:11am, twin brothers are re-born to Professors Paul and Maya McCorckle.

This singular event begins the 5th cycle, another 5125 years on the Aztec/Mayan calendar. The twins are named in the hospital nursery by an old native shaman named Quimichin, who when the boys turn 12, teaches them about their inherent nagual powers and guides the boys to their eternal destiny. Pachua, or "Patch" McCorckle is highly intelligent and gifted.

He quickly learns of the supernatural powers within him. His hero twin brother Yaxeka, or "Yacey", though still born, is revived by his infant brothers touch. This pale, sickly, and careless asthmatic, has powers over bad luck and acute spiritual sensitivity.

Together as shape-shifting naguals, Young Patch and Yacey must learn the way of the nagual, discover their true purpose and destiny, then convince their older half brother, or The Smoking Mirror, who is Patch's eternal opposite, to turn from his own selfish plans, and help the twins save our dying planet.
